RetailIQ merchant guide
Everything you need to run your store day to day.
Overview
RetailIQ has two sides. Your customers use your storefront to browse, choose options, check out and receive a confirmation. You use the admin area to manage products, orders, shipping, invoices, stock and reporting.
New to RetailIQ? Watch the two-minute demo first, then use this guide as a reference.
Your storefront
Your store carries your logo, your business name and your brand colours, so it looks like yours. Customers can search the catalogue, filter by category and sort products.
Your terms of service, privacy policy and returns information are linked from the storefront and shown at checkout, so customers know what they are agreeing to.
Products and options
Each product can have options such as size or colour. Combinations of options become variants, and each variant can have its own price and stock.
- Publishing: keep a product as a draft while you prepare it, then publish it when it is ready to sell.
- Out-of-stock options switch off automatically in the storefront, so customers can't choose something you can't supply.
- Maximum quantity per order lets you cap how many of an item one customer can buy.
- Allow orders when out of stock keeps an item orderable even when stock reaches zero, for made-to-order or restocking items.
Managing orders
Every order arrives in one inbox with the customer, the delivery address and exactly what was bought. Filter by status to see what needs attention.
An order moves through these statuses:
- Pending: placed by the customer, waiting for you.
- Processing: you are preparing it.
- Shipped: on its way, ideally with tracking.
- Delivered: it has arrived.
Orders can also be Cancelled or Returned. Open an order to see its items, totals, customer details and a timeline of what has happened.
Shipping and tracking
On each order, record the carrier and the tracking number, and optionally a tracking link. Save the shipping details and the order shows them to you at a glance, so nothing gets lost on the way.
Invoices and labels
RetailIQ creates an invoice for every order automatically. From the order page you can print:
- the invoice and the shipping label together,
- the invoice on its own, or
- the shipping label on its own, ready to stick on the parcel.
Stock
Stock stays accurate without manual juggling. It is updated when an order is delivered, and quantities on open orders are held back, so the same item can't be sold twice.
The dashboard lists low-stock products, so you can reorder before you run out.
QR price labels
Print QR price labels for your shelves from the product list. You get one label for every product option, in your choice of label size, and you can set how many copies of each to print.
Dashboard
The dashboard shows how the store is doing over the period you choose:
- revenue, orders, average order value and items per order,
- repeat customers and cancelled or returned orders,
- orders by status, stock alerts and your top customers,
- store health, such as drafts waiting to publish, and
- plain-language insights generated from your live store data.
Customer data
If a customer asks what personal data you hold on them, or asks you to erase it, you can export or erase that customer's data directly from the order page.
Erasing is permanent
Billing
RetailIQ is a fixed monthly fee. The month you join is free, and your first bill is issued on the 1st of the following month. You can see your billing status in the admin area.
